Invisalign® offers the option of straightening teeth without the need for traditional metal braces.
Invisalign is a great option to straighten teeth for adults or post-secondary students who do not want to deal with traditional metal braces. With the invisible trays people will not be able to notice that you are having orthodontic treatment! They are also easily removed so patients can eat, brush and floss as they normally would.
To find out if you are a candidate for Invisalign, please contact Sidney Harbour Dental to set up a consultation.
What is the length of treatment?
Length of treatment for Invisalign® is very similar to traditional braces as the teeth need to be moved gently and gradually. If a patient is interested in immediate improvement for misaligned teeth they may be candidates for porcelain veneers.
What are the Appointments involved with Invisalign?
When your doctor has determined if you are a good candidate, impressions of the teeth and the bite are taken and sent to Invisalign®. A digital 3-D software program is used to create a series of clear retainers. Each retainer will be switched out approximately every 2 weeks. Generally with a case there will be 18-30 trays
How many hours a day do I have to wear the trays?
The more you wear the trays the smoother the treatment will go. If the trays are not worn enough, then you may not be ready for the next tray at the planned time which will slow down the treatment end date.
Are payment plans available?
Our friendly staff will provide you with assistance and help determine what coverage you are eligible to receive from your insurance company. Monthly payment plans are also available.
How do I brush and floss my teeth?
The trays should be removed for eating and the teeth brushed before re-inserting the trays. Flossing is needed at least once a day. The trays tend to hold the plaque on the teeth and therefore removing that plaque more regularly is imperative. Brushing and flossing techniques are as normal.
